Bobcats break out brooms against Santa Ana

The Saddleback women's volleyball team improved to three games over .500 with a 3-0 win against Santa Ana College on Friday night inside the Saddleback gymnasium.  The Bobcats remain in the hunt for a playoff spot with the win.

Saddleback didn't have much room for error entering the matchup as the Bobcats are currently 17^th in Southern California in the RPI Ratings with 18 programs qualifying for the regional tournament.  Saddleback needed to secure the win against a Santa Ana program that entered the contest with only six wins, and did so in quick fashion in sweeping past the Dons.

Saddleback took a 1-0 lead on Santa Ana when it cruised to 25-17 win in the opening set.  The Bobcats then got out of the gate slowly in the next two sets, trailing 4-0 in set two and 3-0 in set three before rallying past the Dons for 25-21 and 25-20 wins, respectively.

Saddleback now sits in sixth place in the Orange Empire Conference standings with three games left on the schedule.  The Bobcats will host Santiago Canyon College next Wednesday (6:00 PM) and Irvine Valley College on Friday (6:00 PM) before hosting Orange Coast College on the final night of the regular season on November 17 (3:00 PM).
