Bobcats break out brooms against Santa Ana

The Saddleback women's volleyball team improved to three games over .500 with a 3-0 win against Santa Ana College on Friday night inside the Saddleback gymnasium.  The Bobcats remain in the hunt for a playoff spot with the win.

Saddleback didn't have much room for error entering the matchup as the Bobcats are currently 17th in Southern California in the RPI Ratings with 18 programs qualifying for the regional tournament.  Saddleback needed to secure the win against a Santa Ana program that entered the contest with only six wins, and did so in quick fashion in sweeping past the Dons.

Saddleback took a 1-0 lead on Santa Ana when it cruised to 25-17 win in the opening set.  The Bobcats then got out of the gate slowly in the next two sets, trailing 4-0 in set two and 3-0 in set three before rallying past the Dons for 25-21 and 25-20 wins, respectively.

Saddleback now sits in sixth place in the Orange Empire Conference standings with three games left on the schedule.  The Bobcats will host Santiago Canyon College next Wednesday (6:00 PM) and Irvine Valley College on Friday (6:00 PM) before hosting Orange Coast College on the final night of the regular season on November 17 (3:00 PM).
