West Los Angeles College is just one win away from reaching the state tournament after defeating No. 15 San Diego Miramar College by a final score of 79-61 on Thursday in Round 2 of the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

The No. 2-seeded Wildcats will host district rival and No. 7-seed East Los Angeles College in a third-round game on Saturday (Mar. 5) at 7 p.m. with a trip to the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships on the line.

Ticket prices for the CCCAA postseason game at "The Den" at West LA are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

West LA picked up its 18th straight victory on Thursday night to set up this weekend's battle of Los Angeles. The Wildcats trailed 36-28 at halftime but blew out Miramar by a 51-25 margin over the final 20 minutes to pull out the come-from-behind win.

Justin Williams nailed 5 three-pointers on his way to a team-high 23 points for the Wildcats. Roy Clarke nearly had a double-double with 22 points and 9 rebounds while Matthew Mayes contributed 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 steals.

West LA improved to 26-3 overall and looks to reach the state championships for the first time under sixth-season head coach Anthony Jones.

East Los Angeles edged No. 10-seeded Cerritos College 59-55 on Thursday in its second-round contest. The Huskies enter Saturday's game riding a 17-game winning streak and are 25-4 overall.
