Compton, Calif.- The Compton Tartars (2-1-1) women's soccer team encountered their first loss of the season due to a final penalty kick from the visiting College of the Desert Roadrunners (4-3-0) to give them the win with a final score of 2-1.
Both teams played hard nose defense in the first half as both goalkeepers protected the nets to leave the game scoreless at the half.
In the second half the Tarters would strike first at the 74th minute mark by freshman Jazmin Jimenez for the first goal of the game.
The Roadrunners would respond four minutes later with a goal at the 78th minute and then a final penalty kick made by Ashley Murguia (84th minute) which led to their win over the Tartars.
The Compton College women's soccer team (2-1-1) will next be on the road at Mt. San Jacinto College (3-4-1) on Friday October 1st at 4:00 pm.
