On Thursday, the Cerritos College softball team picked up their third South Coast Conference win in a row, as they defeated Los Angeles Harbor College, 9-1 in five innings. The Falcons (18-6, 10-2), who are currently tied for first place, will travel to Pasadena City College tomorrow for a noon conference game.

In the top of the first inning, Cerritos was able to load the bases with two outs for freshman designated player Maddy Guillen (La Puente HS), who cleared the bases with a three-run double to get the team going. The offense continued in the second inning, as freshman Richere Leduc (California HS) drove home a pair with a triple and then came on to pitch the final two innings.

Freshman starting pitcher Courtney Callison (Santa Fe HS), getting her first start since February 17, tossed the first three innings and allowed one run on three hits and recorded three strikeouts. Leduc retired six of the seven batters she faced to close out the game.

Cerritos opened the third inning by drawing five consecutive walks, with two of the runners coming home. Both Miranda Diaz (California HS) and Alyssa Capps (Downey HS) picked up an RBI with their bases loaded walks, while freshman third baseman Brooklyn Bedolla (Mayfair HS) drove in the third run of the inning on an infield out. A sacrifice fly from freshman pinch-hitter Makayla Torres (Sonora HS) plated Bedolla for the final run of the game.

Leduc went 3-for-4 at the plate and drove in a pair, while six other players had one hit each.
