The West Valley women's water polo team inched closer to a third-straight Coast Conference crown with a decisive 16-4 win at Merced Wednesday. Viking GK Raquel de Pinho was impenetrable, turning aside 15 Blue Devil shots, including a penalty attempt. The Vikings take on Sierra (10-2, 4-0 Big 8) and San Joaquin Delta (6-11, 3-1 Big 8) Oct. 19 in the Coast/Big 8 Crossover Classic at Las Positas, and then close out Coast action at home against De Anza (0-2, 0-2) Oct. 23 and Las Positas (5-3, 3-3) Oct. 30. The ball drops against both the Dons and the Hawks at 4:15pm.
