FREMONT – A four-run, fourth-inning rally wasn't enough for City College of San Francisco to overtake Ohlone College in a narrow 6-5 Coast Conference interdivision loss on Saturday.

CCSF found itself in a 4-0 hole after the first inning and trailed 6-0 after the Renegades scored two more runs in the bottom of the fourth.

The Rams' offense finally came alive in the top of the fifth thanks to two-out rally, capped by a run-scoring single by Matthew Lee that drove in Shane Stanley.

The momentum continued to the sixth when CCSF strung together three hits to produce four runs. Angel Perez and David Balague smacked RBI-doubles, Miguel Esquivez hit a sacrifice fly, and another scored on a passed ball to cut the Ohlone lead to one run.

But the Rams would get no closer. CCSF had the tying run on second with one out in the ninth but couldn't bring Matthew Lee in.

Angel Acosta took the loss after allowing six runs and eight hits over four innings. Nevan Lee followed with four dominant innings of relief, allowing just one hit and no runs.

The Rams fell to 7-9 overall. They return to action on Tuesday (Mar. 14) to open Coast Conference North Division play against West Valley College at 2:30 p.m. in a game played at Cañada College in Redwood City.
