The Long Beach City College Vikings men's volleyball team were crowned the 2022 Western State Conference Champions with a 3-0 win over El Camino. The Vikings won by the sets of 25-18, 25-16, 25-22.

This is Head Coach Jonathan Charrette's fifth-consecutive conference title.

Freshman outside hitter Julian Zavala was unstoppable as he led the team with 12 kills. Freshman middle blocker Alfred Dougherty also had a great offensive night by totaling eight kills against the Warriors.

The team worked together as a unit as they held onto the lead the entire game. Setters Joseph Rocha and Sean Nguyen tallied over 10 assists each, while Zavala and freshman middle blocker Luke Bissell each garnered over six blocks apiece.

The Vikings will be back in post-season action with Round 1 of the SoCal Regional Playoffs this Friday, April. 15 against San Diego Mesa at 6 p.m. Stay tuned to LBCCVikings.com for more information.
