In a tournament filled with some of the top squads in the CCCAA, the West Valley volleyball team took home the second place trophy in the prestigous San Joaquin Delta Invitational Sept. 10-11. The Vikings reached the tourney title match by sweeping Fresno City (25-13, 25-23, 25-22), San Joaquin Delta (25-21, 25-17, 25-12) and Cabrillo (28-26, 25-21, 25-16). Fresno City knocked off defending state champion Feather River in the semifinals and then topped the Vikings 25-20, 25-16, 26-24 to take the title. 

Taylor Tullo connected on 41 kills in the four matches, while Katie Kishton recorded 37. Sydney Rogers had 124 assists and Kate Blackwell came up with 47 digs.

The West Valley road show continues this Wednesday, as the Vikings (5-1) travel to Rocklin to take on Sierra (3-5).
