In a defensive battle Wednesday afternoon, Citrus College came up just short, dropping a 1-0 loss to Antelope Valley College.
The Fighting Owls slip to 2-12 on the year, 1-1 in Western State Conference – South action. The Marauders improve to 10-11 overall, 2-0 in conference.
Briana Poteet threw seven innings, allowing just one run, while striking out four batters.
Vanessa Gutierrez and Samantha Flores had hits in the game for the Owls.
As of now, Citrus is scheduled to play at Glendale College Thursday at 2:30 p.m., but rain is pending.
