Knights Get 3-2 Wins Over Riverside and Santa Ana
San Diego City's women's beach volleyball team finished up its non-conference schedule with two wins on Friday, 3-2 over Riverside and 3-2 over Santa Ana. After starting the season with two losses, the Knights have won four of the last five to improve to 4-3.
San Diego City's women's beach volleyball team finished up its non-conference schedule with two wins on Friday, 3-2 over Riverside and 3-2 over Santa Ana. After starting the season with two losses, the Knights have won four of the last five to improve to 4-3.
The No. 1 team of Alina Fletes and Alyssa Fletes won both of their matches in two sets. They took down Riverside's No. 1 team, 21-12 and 21-14, then got past Santa Ana's No. 1, 21-10 and 21-6.
City's No. 2 team of Kally Norvell and Ashley Davies lost in three sets to Riverside (21-19, 13-21, 8-15), but won in two (21-15, 21-17) over Santa Ana.
Veronica Allen and Charisma Saymo lost (18-21. 10-21) as the No. 3 team to Riverside and fell to Santa Ana in three sets (21-13, 14-21, 7-15) as the No. 4 team.
Jadian Dilg and Jillian Greenen teamed up at the No. 4 spot for a two-set (21-12, 21-15) victory over Riverside. They won the first set against Santa Ana as the No. 3 team, but ended up losing in three (21-10, 14-21, 7-15).
Faith Patterson and Ryla Manalang won both matches at the No. 5 spot by way of forfeit.
The Knights start PCAC play on Friday at 9 a.m. against Palomar. That match will be played at Coast Volleyball Club.
