The West Valley tennis team advanced to the CCCAA NorCal Regional Championship semifinals with a 5-0 win over visiting Reedley College Tuesday afternoon. The 2nd-seeded Vikings (14-1) will host #3 College of the Sequoias (13-1) Tuesday (4/18) at 2:00pm.
Abigail Prokter and Lindsay Lee earned wins in both singles and doubles in the match, which ended immediately upon the Vikings taking an insurmountable fifth win (out of nine total matches).
The other NorCal teams competing in the semis are #1 American River (9-3) and #5 Sierra (6-2). Southern California semifinalists are #1 Orange Coast (19-0), #2 Desert (8-1), whose only loss was to West Valley on March 8, #3 Bakersfield (12-4) and #4 La Mission (12-3). Ther NorCal regional championships are April 22 with the CCCAA Team State Championships April 26 at Ventura College.
