Notes- Baseball completed its sweep of local rival Allan Hancock, 6-4, in the closest and ugliest game of this week's three-game set.  The Cougars and Bulldogs combined for a respectable 15 hits on the day, however that number was surpassed by the number of players that reached base without getting a hit.  Twenty played reached base without getting a hit, including 14 walks, three errors and, three hit-by-pitch.  The difference in the game was that the Cougars only left ten runners on base, while Bulldogs stranded an unlucky 13 baserunners.  Allan Hancock struck first with a Sacrifice Fly in their first at bat, but both teams spent most of the first five innings stranding runners.  Allan Hancock appeared to be on the way to victory after following a beanball with a Cuesta error and a pair of hits to build their lead, 4-0, however the Cougars' responded the next inning.  Cuesta was able to load the bases, without a hit, on a pair of walks and an error, and scored their first run of the game on the Bulldogs third walk of the inning.  Although it all got interesting with the bases still loaded and two outs. The Cougars decided to pinch hit a recently re-activated Lefty David Martinez, but Allan Hancock called in Southpaw Nick Ahedo to counter the move, however Cuesta Coach Bob Miller countered, again, by replacing Martinez, who never saw a pitch, with Jayden Cabbab from the rightside.  Cabbab and Ahedo battled to a full count, then Cabbab crushed the next offering for a mammoth home run to straight away center to give the Cougars their first lead of the contest, 5-4.  Cuesta added another run after the stretch as Relivers Nico Martinez and Lucas Climer held the Bulldogs' bats at bay to earn the win and save, respectively.  Cuesta Rightfielder Kirk Woolf led all betters with three hits on the day, but he neither scored or drove in a run.

The Cougars play a three-game set against Western State Conference foe Pierce next week.  The Cougars are scheduled to be on the road on Tuesday (2 PM) and Saturday (1 PM), but host the Brahmas on Thursday (2 PM).
