February 25, 2025 – The Oxnard College baseball team snapped a four-game losing streak, rallying from a six-run deficit to defeat LA Mission College 12-7 at El Cariso Park. The win marks a statement performance for the Condors as they gear up to get back on track in Western State Conference play.

The Condors struggled early, as LA Mission jumped out to a commanding 6-0 lead in the first inning. However, the Condors responded with determination, mounting a comeback that saw them score 12 runs across the fourth through ninth innings.

Braydon Ferguson was a standout performer for Oxnard, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Bryson Tsukayama-Daniel also had a strong showing at the plate, collecting three hits, two runs, and an RBI. Ahmed Mohamed contributed with a triple, an RBI, and two runs scored, while Joe Ortiz drove in three key runs to fuel the offensive surge.

On the mound, the Condors found their rhythm after a rocky start. Edgar Castro settled things down with 4.1 innings of one-run ball. Roman Munoz, Austin Watkins, and Kekai Adams combined for the final four innings, holding LA Mission scoreless and securing the win for Oxnard.

The momentum shift began in the fourth inning when Oxnard plated five runs, capitalizing on clutch hits and defensive miscues from LA Mission. The Condors took the lead for good in the fifth, as Jonas Ballesteros and Ortiz delivered key RBIs to put Oxnard ahead 8-7. Ferguson's two-run double in the eighth and an insurance run in the ninth sealed the comeback victory.

"This was a great team win," said Oxnard head coach Steve Hernandez. "After falling behind early, our guys showed a lot of fight and never gave up. The bats came alive, and our bullpen did a tremendous job keeping LA Mission off the board late in the game."

With this victory, Oxnard improves to 3-11 on the season, while LA Mission falls to 4-8. The Condors will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next matchup at West LA today.
