TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College began the 2020 season with an impressive outing Friday, sweeping Golden West and Fullerton at the ECC Sand Courts.

The Warriors opened the day against Golden West and scored a definitive victory, sweeping three of the four matches played. The visiting Rustlers forfeited the fifth match as they did not have another pair to compete on the day.

Newcomers Giulia Alessandri and Brooke Drahos had a dominant showing as the No. 1 pair for the Warriors, allowing just 15 points combined in their match.

Kylee Glickman and Caitlin Donatucci also recorded a sweep with sophomores Jocelyn Lacroix and Kelly Donatucci also recording a dominant two-set win.

In the final match of the day, the Warriors were even more impressive as they secured a 5-0 victory over the Hornets, sweeping every match. The team won all but two sets by at least five points en route to a perfect afternoon at the sand courts.

The Warriors will turn right around and return to action Saturday with a pair of matches at CSUN where they will face the host Matadors and MiraCosta.
