Sophomore Jennyfer Morales posted an impressive double-double with 17 points and 20 rebounds to help lead Rio Hondo College to a 67-62 win in overtime against Cerritos College on Friday in the Roadrunners' opening game at the Irvine Valley College Crossover tournament.

Rio Hondo couldn't keep the momentum going and lost 60-36 to Mt. San Jacinto College to close out the two-day event on Saturday.

Morales' 20 rebounds on Friday tied for the second most in Rio Hondo program history. Five of those rebounds came in overtime to aid in the win.

Tiah Sherman also played a big role as she came up clutch by scoring seven of her 15 points in the extra period. Rosalie Avalos contributed a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Rio Hondo got off to a good start against Mt. San Jacinto on Saturday but went cold in the second half for the loss. The Roadrunners trailed by five points, 25-20, after two quarters but were outscored 35-16 the rest of the way.
