Citrus College continued its five-game homestand with an 11-4 loss to Rio Hondo College on Saturday.

The Owls drop to 3-8 on the year, while the Roadrunners improve to 6-6.

Rio Hondo scored four runs in the top of the first to take a quick lead, but Citrus broke through with one run in the second and three in the fourth to tie the game.

In the bottom of the second with two outs, Nicholas Santiago (2-for-4) got on base with a single to right and came home on an Aaron Martinez double deep into left center.

Two innings later, Santiago led the bottom of the fourth off with a double and made his way to third on a Devon Diaz (2-for-4) single. Sean Rooney followed with an RBI infield single before a sacrifice fly from Chad Green (2-for-4) scored Diaz. Rooney tied the game after rounding third on a deep base hit to right from Alex Hernandez (2-for-4).

The Roadrunners took back their lead and then some, however, plating three runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and two in the seventh, while shutting down the Owls to secure the 11-4 victory.

Citrus remains at home, hosting San Bernardino Valley College on Tuesday for a 2 p.m. contest.
