The College of the Desert rallied to extend the game and then grabbed an 11-9 extra-inning victory over Citrus College.

The Owls slip to 3-7 on the year, while the Roadrunners improve to 1-3.

Citrus got things going in the first, scoring three runs on three hits. Isabella Ramirez led off with a walk and came home on a Layla Prieto double. Mia Godoy traded places with her and then came home on a double from Ericka Pineda.

Desert scored one run in the third and four runs in the fifth to take control of the lead, but the Owls responded with a big sixth inning.

With bases loaded and no outs, Natalie Adams had an infield single, beating out the throw at first, to plate one run. Jillian Walker followed with a base hit up the middle to score two and Ramirez tripled down the right-field line to tack on two more runs.

Despite holding a 9-5 lead and just needing three outs to seal the victory, Citrus couldn't find the outs fast enough in the top of the seventh. The Condors tied the game with four runs on four hits and one error, before taking the lead back in the eighth with two runs.

In the bottom half of the inning, Oxnard took the Owls down in order to end the game.

Citrus returns home to host Mt. San Jacinto on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
