Nika Cook ventures way outside the box to head the ball away against Folsom Lake

It was one of those days for the West Valley women's soccer team. The Vikings couldn't mount a consistent offensive attack or stop Folsom Lake on defense in WVC's 8-0 loss to the Falcons Tuesday at Dick Schwendinger Field.
The teams were scoreless until Folsom Lake (4-0-0) stuck at 34' and 37' for a 2-0 halftime lead. The score remained the same until the Folcons found the back of the net in rapid fashion at 68', 74', 78', 83', 87' and 90'.
West Valley (2-3-1) will put this one in the rearview mirror as it prepares for two more undefeated teams from the Big 8 Conference this weekend. American River (3-0) visits Dick Schwendinger Field Friday (9/17), while Sierra (3-0) comes to town Sunday. Kickoff is 4pm Friday and noon Sunday.
