A five-run rally in the 4th inning wasn't enough for the Panthers yesterday as they fell on the road 8-5 at Antelope Valley. "We dug ourselves a big hole in the first three innings (falling behind 6-0) but we showed character in coming back to make it a one-run game," said Head Coach Jerry Tivey.
AVC came out swinging grabbing four runs in the 2nd and an additional two in the 3rd to take a commanding 6-0 lead. With one out in the 4th, a series of singles coupled with Marauder errors put Chaffey back in the game, behind by one run. Antelope Valley went on to score in the 5th and 6th to seal the win.
Isabella Anzueto opened the game facing off against 12. Celeste Paniagua came in to close the 2nd inning. Each gave up four runs.
"They're a good team and we saw some things that we still need to improve on." The Panthers will host College of the Desert Friday for a conference doubleheader beginning at noon.
