Citrus Falls to PCC

Citrus Falls to PCC

In its final game before the start of Western State Conference action, Citrus College couldn't hold off Pasadena City College and fell 9-2.

The Owls drop to 6-15 on the year while the Lancers improve to 6-14.

PCC scored first with a run in both the first and second innings, but Citrus evened things up in the bottom of the fourth. After Isabella Ramirez singled aboard, Mia Godoy knocked her sixth home run of the season – her second-straight game with a long ball – to tie the game at 2-2.

Things took a turn in the top of the sixth, however, as the Lancers scored six runs on four hits and an Owl error to jump in front, 8-2. PCC added another run in the seventh for good measure and held on for the 9-2 victory.

Citrus opens conference action on Thursday at the College of the Canyons at 2:30 p.m., hoping to snap a four-game losing streak.
