Softball Sweeps Cerro Coso to Wrap up Conference Play

The MSJC softball team picked up a pair of road wins at Cerro Coso on Friday to wrap up their Inland Empire Athletic Conference schedule. The Eagles have three non-conference games remaining for the year.

In Friday's first game the Eagles scored two runs in the top of the 7th inning to claim a 5-3 win over Cerro Coso.  Amy Perrault picked up the pitching victory while Jasmine Barerras came in to pitch the 7th inning and earn the save.  Veronika Prado led the offense with three hits and two RBIs in the game, including a double.  Barerras, Hailie Mull, and Alexis Aldridge all added an RBI in the victory.

In game two of the day the Eagles pounded out 15 hits on their way to a 10-2 win in six innings.  Mull, Ariana Castellon, and Chelsi Washburn all had two RBIs in to lead the way.  Amanda Gromko earned the victory in the circle as she went 3 and 2/3  innings not allowing an earned run while striking out 5.

The Eagles wrapped up IEAC play with a record of 6-9, they are 10-18 overall.  MSJC will wrap up the season with a home game on Wednesday at Menifee against Imperial Valley at 2 pm, before going on the road for non-conference games with Glendale on Thursday and College of the Desert next Wednesday April 27th.
