Bobcats zap Hornets
The Saddleback men's tennis team jumped into third place in the Orange Empire Conference with a 7-2 win against Fullerton College on Tuesday at the Saddleback Tennis Complex. The Bobcats won all three doubles matches in cruising to the win over the Hornets.
Saddleback jumped out to a 3-0 advantage, winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and receiving a forfeit win at No. 3 doubles. Brett Batey and Max Svensson had to dig deep in winning, 8-6, at No. 1 doubles while Oliver Svensson and Shota Tokutsu breezed to an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
Svensson (pictured) and Tokutsu would win twice on Tuesday, also winning in singles matches. Svensson streaked to a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles while Tokutsu did the same at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Matthew Heys also picked up a nice win at No. 4 singles, winning 6-2, 6-1.
Saddleback is now 3-7 overall and 3-4 in Orange Empire Conference play. The Bobcats will finish conference play on Thursday at Irvine Valley College. Match time is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
