Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Baseball team hosted Feather River on 2020 Opening Day at Gerry Collis Field and came away with the loss, 6-2.
Matt Patton had the first BC hit of the season hitting a first inning triple. He ended up scoring on an RBI grounder by Will Reynolds to put the Renegades up early, 1-0.
Rhett Garrett extended the lead after reaching on a lead-off error by the Feather River third baseman and scored after a second Reynolds RBI to bring the lead to 2-0. Feather River managed to tie the game up in the fourth at 2-2, but would increase the lead by one in the 5th and three in the ninth.
Patton led the Renegades at the plate, coming short of the cycle hitting a single, double and triple.
The Renegades drop to 0-1 on the young season. Tomorrow they host Moorpark at 7pm and Sunday will host Taft at 2pm at Gerry Collis Field.
