W. WATER POLO: HORNETS TOO MUCH FOR RIVERSIDE

The FC women's water polo team had its home and Orange Empire Conference opener against Riverside City College on Tuesday and had great success defeating the Tigers 14-4.

Fullerton did not waste any time getting on the board taking a 7-1 lead by the end of the first quarter. Adrianna Wong and Neida Torres set the tone early scoring in the first couple of drives.

By halftime, the Hornets expanded their lead at 10-2. Maggie Moreno, Charley Jackson, and Amanda Ellerbroek scored a goal each in the second quarter.

The second half was controlled by Fullerton's swarming defense holding the Tigers scoreless in the third quarter and allowed only two goals in the fourth.

Kathryn Whittingham got the start in the goalie cage and had 4 saves in two quarters of play. Alexis Storman played the duration of the second half and had 7 saves, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

Up Next: The Hornets (6-0 overall, 1-0 OEC) will host another conference match against Santa Ana College on Wednesday, September 22nd at 4:00 pm.
