SHASTA WINS THREE OF FOUR IN BAY AREA

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College volleyball team won three out of four matches over the weekend at the Golden Gate Classic and the Renegade Classic.

Jennifer Troxclair recorded 13 kills and Presley Hamilton totaled 10 kills in each of the four sets. After the week, Sarah Ault ranks third in the state with 36 service aces while Troxclair's team-leading 142 kills ranks 21st.

In San Francisco at the Golden Gate Classic, the Knights edged Marin in five sets 25-22, 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 15-13 before taking down City College of San Francisco in four sets 25-15, 26-24, 19-25, 25-11.

Troxclair had 13 kills and 12 digs for a double-double against Marin while Hamilton totaled 10 kills and 17 digs. Olivia Sladek chipped in with seven kills and three solo blocks, Emma Friar had eight kills and five blocking assists and Sarah Ault registered 34 assists, 16 digs and eight service aces.

Against San Francisco, Troxclair and Hamilton led the hitting attack again with 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Friar and Danielle Strocscher each totaled six kills, Ault racked up 33 assists and six aces and Aliyah Rosado-Cruz led the Knights with 24 digs.

At Renegade Classic at Ohlone College, the Knights swept Ohlone 25-17, 25-19, 25-15 before losing in five sets to Folsom 21-25, 25-22, 14-25, 25-14, 15-9.

Troxclair's 13 kills paced the Knights in the sweep of Ohlone. Hamilton turned in 10 kills and 14 digs, Stroscher added six kills, Ault dished 31 assists and Rosado-Cruz racked up 15 digs.

In the loss against Folsom, Troxlcair and Hamilton each recorded double-doubles with 13 kills and 14 digs, and 10 kills and 15 digs, respectively. Ault pitched in with 14 kills, 37 assists and 23 digs while Stroscher added nine kills. Rosado-Cruz totaled 19 digs in the defeat.

The Knights (8-6) open up Golden Valley Conference play at College of the Siskiyous on Friday.
