The MSJC baseball team continued their hot start to the season as they improved to 4-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play while pushing their overall win streak to five games.

After an 11-2 non-conference win over Citrus on Saturday, the Eagles picked up three conference wins during a very busy week.  On Tuesday MSJC built a 7-2 lead on the road at Cerro Coso after five innings and then held on for an 11-8 win.  Garrett Teunissen and Andre Torres both had three hits and two RBIs to lead the offense.  Greg Luna and Christian Smith also drove in a pair of runs each.  Pierce Sailer earned the pitching victory going 3 and 1/3 innings out of the bullpen allowing just one run.

Thursday the Eagles went on the road to College of the Desert and came away with a 4-2 victory.  Gavin Copeland had three hits including a solo homerun in the top of the 6th, while Torres drove in two runs and Teunissen drove in another.  Nolan LaChappa pitched five innings allowing just one unearned run on his way to his 4th pitching victory of the season.  Brock Robarts earned his second save of the year as he threw 2 shut out innings to close out the win.

The Eagles concluded their busy week with a come from behind home win over Victor Valley on Saturday.  MSJC fell behind 11-1 after four innings as their defense had their worst game of the season committing 7 errors.  The Eagles did battle back though as the offense struck for 6 runs in the bottom of the 6th and 7 runs in the bottom of the 8th to pull out the 14-11 victory.  Luna capped off his big week with 3 more RBIs while Will Potter and Nico Reyes each drove in two runs each.  Jack Siegel earned the pitching win with 3 scoreless innings of relief and Trysten Eddy earned his 3rd save of the year striking out the side in the 9th.

MSJC is now 15-2 overall on the year and 4-0 in IEAC games, they are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday when they host Barstow College at 2 pm.
