The MiraCosta women's beach volleyball team opened their season against two tough opponents.  The Spartans dropped their first match to state powerhouse Irvine Valley College but then regrouped and beat El Camino College 3-2 to finish the day 1-1. In the win versus El Camino Summer Hoslett and Makayla Hicks won easity in two sets, as did Paola Peralta and Savannah So'oto.  The duo that clinched the win was Aria Barker and Aliah Cortez who stayed focused and won 15-12 in the third game.  Barker finished the game with an impressive kill. The Spartans are next in action on Friday, February 25 at 9AM at Warm Waters beach in Carlsbad when they take on San Diego Christian University and University of Saint Katherine.
