Sac City hammers Falcon pitching

The Falcons opened their Big 8 schedule on Tuesday afternoon with high hopes, but the Sac City Panthers dashed those hopes quickly as they scored runs in each of the first five innings on their way to a 13-5 drubbing at Falcon Field.  The Panthers, who seemingly had runners on base all day, collected 14 hits and 8 walks, and despite scoring 13 runs, stranded 11 runners on base.  For the Falcons, Trey Furrey's 2-run homer in the 4th inning and Alex Schroeder's bases clearing 3-run double in the 7th inning were the lone bright spots.  The two teams will meet twice more this week, at City's Union Stadium on Thursday evening (5:00 pm) and back at "The Lake" on Friday at 5:00 pm.
