Softball Falls to Cerritos

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College could not get anything going offensively Thursday afternoon in a 12-0 South Coast Conference loss to Cerritos at the ECC Softball Field.
The run-rule loss was the first time this season the Warriors (11-8, 5-4) suffered a run-rule loss and it was also the first time the Warriors have been shutout this season.
Kayla Inzunza had two of the team's four hits with Leah Madden and Sarah Reels getting the other hits for ECC, all singles.
The Falcons (15-5, 7-2) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first and would cruise from there as Samantha Islas recorded the victory in the circle after pitching five innings of scoreless softball. She allowed three hits and recorded three strikeouts.
The Warriors will return to action on Tuesday when they host Rio Hondo for an SCC contest. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
