Vikings swamp San Diego Mesa and Mt. SAC to open 2019 West Valley Invitational

The West Valley women's water polo team swamped San Diego Mesa 17-1 and Mt. San Antonio 16-4 to open the 2019 West Valley Invitational Friday at the WVC Aquatics Center. Alexis Goldin paced the opener against Mesa with five goals and five steals, while Nadja Novakovic added four goals and GK Raquel de Pinho recorded 14 saves. Maryam Khatoon and Novakovic netted four goals apiece in the afternoon game against Mt. SAC. Goldin nabbed four steals and de Pinho had 14 saves. The Vikings (4-2) take on Cuesta (4-3) at 11:30am and Saddleback (0-5) at 3:00pm as the tournament continues Saturday.
