Men's Soccer Splits Final Series with Antelope Valley

The Allan Hancock College men's soccer program split with Antelope Valley College in the final series of the abbreviated Spring I season.

The opening game of the series proved to be a physical wire-to-wire battle as both teams combined for five yellow cards in the contest. Allan Hancock held a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half, courtesy of an unassisted goal by Carlos Ramirez in the 8th minute of play. Josue Chavez put the game away after burying a penalty kick in the 64th minute to double the lead. Antelope Valley responded in the 72nd minute by sneaking one past the keeper. Matt Martinelli earned the win in the box for the Bulldogs after collecting seven saves through 90 minutes of action.

As a team, Hancock outshot the Marauders at a slim 16-14 advantage while placing nine attempts on frame. Antelope Valley was active from the edge of the field, notching five corner kicks, while AHC attempted zero.

The Bulldogs fell in game two on the road in a 3-1 decision at Antelope Valley.
