The Long Beach City College softball team fell to the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties 11-3 on Tuesday evening at Mayfair Park.

Sophomore pitcher Daisy Torres (1-3) took the loss in the circle with four earned runs on seven hits in four innings of work. Freshman pitcher Samantha Meyer was a force in the ring for the Vikings as she only allowed the Mounties to one earned run in the final two innings.

The Mounties were first on the board with two runs in the top of the third and four runs in the top of the fifth. The Vikings rallied and freshman first baseman Mya Logan hit an RBI single to score in freshman catcher Ayanna Gamble.

The Mounties ran in five more in the top of the seventh, but that didn't stop the Vikings as they scored two more with an RBI double from Gamble to bring in sophomore second baseman Alora Murray, and sophomore third baseman Ileana Rivera scoring in sophomore center fielder Yazmin Zendejas to end the game 11-3.

The Vikings will return to the field on Thursday, Feb. 13 against LA Valley College at 2 p.m. at Mayfair Park.
