TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College jumped out to a huge lead early and never looked back in a 12-5 South Coast Conference victory over visiting Compton on Wednesday afternoon at Warrior Field.

Joey Replogle led the Warriors' (14-8, 7-3) offensive attack as he went 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and three RBI. Overall the Warriors had nine hits and drew 10 walks.

David Case recorded his first victory of the season on the mound as he tossed four hitless innings with one walk and three strikeouts. He was pulled after four innings due to a predetermined pitch count.

The Warriors opened the scoring in the second inning as Compton walked the bases loaded to begin the frame. After a strikeout, Replogle smacked a single to left to bring in two runs and put ECC up by a pair.

The game was out of reach by the end of the third inning as the Warriors scored five times in the frame on just two hits thanks to two Tartars errors.

They added two more in the fourth for a 9-0 lead and the Warriors never looked back.

The teams will meet again on Thursday for game two, once again at Warrior Field due to field conditions at Compton. The Tartars will be the designated home team and bat second in the game with first pitch set for 2:30 p.m.
