(Walnut, CA) Host Mt. SAC (2-1) opened the 2021 Mt. SAC Nike/Azteca Tournament with a 4-0 win over Lake Tahoe (0-1) on Friday.

Kaylee Gutierrez put the Mounties on the board at the one-minute mark on an assist from Deanna Rojas. Alyssa Williams added a pair of goals on assists from Adriana Romero (34th minute) and Angeles Jacobo (76th minute), while teammate Gabriella Sanchez found the net in the 72nd minute on an assist from Fatima Arnold.

Goalie Leila Peregrina held Tahoe scoreless in 90 minutes with four saves.

The Mounties will face Norco (1-1) for the tournament championship on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 12 noon.
