The West Valley tennis team came up just short in its Coast Conference match against Cañada Friday, dropping a 5-4 thriller to the Colts in Saratoga.
The Vikings (4-5, 2-4 Coast) got a pair of wins from Olivia Ocher and Arlenne Quinones. The pair teamed up to capture their #2 doubles match against Sophie Test/Alice Zhang 8-2 and then Ocher bested Cañada's Anna Brody 6-0, 6-2 in #2 singles and Quinones topped Test 6-0, 6-4 in #4 singles.
Katie Watts took care of Zhang 6-1, 6-0 in the #3 singles contest.
The Vikings host Chabot (7-3, 4-1) Tuesday (3/10) at 2:00pm.
