LANCASTER – For the first time this season, the SBCC men's volleyball team overcame a two-set deficit, coming all the way back to defeat Antelope Valley on the road, 28-30, 24-26, 25-16, 25-19, 15-11.

Santa Barbara (4-8, 2-5) nearly won the first two sets but was able to close out the final three thanks to a huge outing from outside hitter Payton Miller, who became the first Vaquero to go for over 20 kills this season. Miller put up 25 kills (.467) to go along with five digs and three blocks.

Setting him up all night was Carter Cottrell, who also smashed his previous season-high with 57 assists. He also finished with 12 digs for a third consecutive double-double. He now has four for the year.

Opposite Kevin Vonyokes went for 17 kills – one shy of a season-best – and recorded his first double-double of the year with 10 digs. He also had five blocks, second only to Kayode Lovejoy-Hall's outstanding season-high of 10.

The Vaqueros finished with team season-highs in kills (60), assists (57) and digs (76). They are now 2-3 in five-set matches this year.
