Softball Sweeps Doubleheader VS Cuesta

After recording their first two wins of the season on Saturday, the 2-2 Reedley College Tiger softball team will hit the road this weekend.
Fresh from 8-1 and 6-4 wins over Hartnell in Reedley on Saturday, Coach Amy Bailey's Tigers will face Sacramento City College (4-3-1) this Saturday at 10 am before facing College of the Siskiyous (0-3) at noon.

Reedley jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the opener with Hartnell, thanks to Makayiah Johnson's three-run homer in the first inning.
Ellie Montalvo had four hits to lead Reedley's 14-hit attack. Montalvo finished with two doubles, and two singles, driving in two runs. Winning pitcher Annabelle Buchanan, Sienna Esquivel, Precious Hawkins and Ana Trevino all added two hits with Trevino stealing three bases.
Buchanan went the distance on the mound, scattering eight hits and striking out seven, allowing only an unearned run.

In the second game, the Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 lead scoring four times in the first inning. Esquivel's two-run double was the big blow.
Johnson was the winning pitcher, working into the fifth inning before Buchanan came in to record her first save.
