
Oxnard College men's soccer team secured a tough victory against LA Mission with a final score of 2-1 in a tense matchup held at El Cariso Park. This win brings Oxnard's record to an impressive 9-0-4 (2-0-2) for the season, continuing their unbeaten streak.
The match kicked off with LA Mission taking an early lead when Marcos Chavez scored in the 44th minute, putting the home team ahead 1-0 just before halftime. However, Oxnard came back strong in the second half, displaying their resilience and skill.
Oxnard's Alejandro Jimenez equalized in the 58th minute with a well-placed shot, assisted by Andres Gutierrez. The momentum shifted decisively when Alexis Cuevas scored the game-winner in the 82nd minute, showcasing the team's determination and offensive prowess.
Despite playing a man down for a large portion of the game, OC held ground with a solid defensive performance led by goalkeeper Adrian Contreras (six saves).
The team will look to build on this momentum as they prepare to host LA Pierce on Tuesday from 4:00.
