Compton, Calif. – Freshman Matthew Wells collected 137 yards in kickoff returns on Saturday evening in the match against the Chaffey Panthers (5-0, 1-0), but the Tartars (0-5, 0-1) still fell 72-8.
Freshmen Jesse Brew III and Arsiah McCorker let the Tartar offense, both serving as quarterbacks throughout the game. Brew collected 39 rushing yards and McCorker collected 35 passing yards. McCorker also had the one Tartar touchdown in the second quarter.
Sophomore Craige Slaughter led the defense for Compton completing in 11 solo tackles and assisting in one. Sophomores Christopher Willis and Samuel Contreras both contributed to a sack resulting a loss of four yards.
The Tartars play at home again on Saturday October 26th for a 6PM kickoff against LA Valley (2-3, 1-0).
