Sacramento, CA.

Although Arionna Butts put 30 points on the scoreboard, Cosumnes River College fell to Santa Rosa College 75-53. The Hawks took some time before the game started to recognize their two sophomores, Ari Butts and Kiki Jones. Both Butts and Jones had strong careers at CRC and will be looking to graduate this spring. They have been integral parts of the Hawk family and will be missed. Their impact on this year's freshmen squad will show next year when the freshmen group becomes sophomores themselves.

Though CRC HAWKS finished strong, adding 18 points in the final quarter, it wasn't enough to turn things around. A slow start in the first quarter sealed the Hawks fate even though they kept it close for the remainder of the game.

Ari Butts had one of her best games as a Hawk on Friday night. Making 56% (10-for-18) of shots taken, Butts had a great shooting game from the field, as well as outside the arc, making 50% (3-for-6) of threes attempted. From the line, Butts made 88% (7-for-8) of free throws attempted. "She did all she could to help the Hawks find their first victory of conference but unfortunately she didn't see much help from her teammates", stated Coach Sage after the game. "We are so proud of all she did not only tonight but in her two years as a CRC Hawk", added Sage.

Also helping the effort for Cosumnes River College were Suraya Cabrera (9 points, 1 rebound), Chelsea Shirley (7 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals), and Kiara Jones (5 points, 6 rebounds). The Hawks struggled containing Lani Lincoln once again, going 6-8 from the 3 point line was just too much for the Hawks to overcome.

Cosumnes River College finished the game with 37 rebounds (15 offensive / 22 defensive), one block and eight steals.

The Hawks would like to thank all their friends, family and fans for their support this season. We also want to thank Ari and Kiki for everything they have done for this program over their two years here and wish them the best of luck in their next adventures. "This season may be over but we are very excited about our returning class of freshmen who will bring much experience to next years squad" stated Coach Sage. She also added, "We are already looking forward to next season and our preparation begins on Monday".

See you all next season!
