Hawks Lose Despite Strong Performance

The Cosumnes River Hawks played a tough game at home against the Sierra College Wolverines, who still remain undefeated in conference play.  The Hawks jumped off to a great start, possessing a 4-1 lead heading into the 5th inning, but the Wolverines managed to put six runs on the board in the final three innings of the game.  CRC rallied behind an incredible performance by freshman infielder, Leandra Coronado (Elk Grove, CA. / Monterey Trail HS), who had three hits in her four at bats.  Two of Coronado's three hits were doubles, and she also accumulated two RBIs as well as scoring a run.  Sophomore, Alexandria Hale (Elk Grove, CA. / Elk Grove HS) also played well tallying two hits in the game and scoring a run.

CRC look to bounce back from this loss and finish the week on a high note with their double header against Diablo Valley Community College on Saturday.  The Hawks are traveling to take on the Vikings who are 1-3 in conference play.  These games will take place on Saturday, March 7th, at 12:00 and 2:00 pm.
