AVC Men's Volleyball lost a close match to San Diego Miramar at home on Wednesday. The Marauders had the momentum early on, winning the first set 25-20. The Jets responded by winning sets two and three 25-18, 25-18. Antelope Valley rebounded to force a fifth set with a 25-20 win in set four. The Marauders battled hard but eventually lost the final set 15-9.
AVC was led by Nolan Taflinger, who had 13 kills, 6 digs, and 2 blocks. Tim Talabong had a team-high 12 digs to go along with 8 kills. Luis Guerra and Connor Wachala had 7 kills each. Guerra, who leads the team in kills on the season with 76, also had 7 digs. Wachala also contributed 11 digs and 4 blocks. Eddie Reyes recorded 31 assists and 9 digs on the day.
The Marauders are 3-4 on the season and will now begin conference play on Friday, March 3, at 6:00 pm at AVC.
