Green Strikes Gold for Owls

Citrus College picked up its first Western State Conference-South win with a 12-9 victory over Antelope Valley College Friday afternoon.

The Owls improve to 5-15 overall and 1-4 in conference action, while the Marauders drop to 8-11 and 1-4 in WSC-South action.

Conner Green had a dominant game, going 3-for-3 with all three hits coming as home runs. He finished with three runs, seven RBIs, and three walks.

Two other Owls had multiple hits in the game: Sean Rooney went 3-for-5, while Aaron Martinez was 2-for-4 with two runs.

On the mound, Joseph Jimenez picked up the win with five strikeouts in three innings, while Kaj James grabbed the save, striking out two batters in one inning.

The Owls and Marauders close out the series on Saturday at 1 p.m. at AVC with the winner taking the series.
