COD Softball grabs big win on the road, sinks Raiders, 6-4

COD (10-19) received big production out of Davia Hines in the batter's box and Jessie Rios-Huerta in the pitcher's circle as the Roadrunners stunned the Moorpark Raiders (21-8), 6-4.

The Roadrunners traveled over 160 miles to Moorpark, after playing 21 innings the previous day, including a 14 inning game in the first game of a double header at Mt. San Jacinto.

Freshman right handed starting pitcher Jessie Rios-Huerta (La Quinta H.S.) grabbed her first win of 2022, tossing seven complete innings and striking out one.

Freshman designated player Davia Hines (Palm Springs H.S.) had an amazing game out of the leadoff spot, going 3 for 4, with her first home run of the season and a season high, five runs batted in, giving her 20 for 2022.

Sophomore first baseman Jaidyn Olson (Rancho Mirage H.S.) went 2 for 4 out of the clean-up spot and freshman second baseman Beyonce Mondragon (Thermal Coachella Valley) went 2 for 4 with a run scored out of the five hole in the lineup.

Freshman left fielder Annabelle Amador (Indio Shadow Hills) went 2 for 3 with a run scored out of the seven hole in the win.

The next home game for the Roadrunners is April 6th at 2p, when the Barstow Vikings are in town for an Inland Empire Athletics Conference game.
