COD Baseball has 6-run 1st, deflects the Lasers, 11-3

COD (8-1) surrendered an early lead, then counter-punched with a 6-run first, as the Roadrunners blocked the Irvine Valley Lasers (4-4), 11-3.

Sophomore catcher Abraham Hernandez (La Quinta H.S.) who came into to today's lineup batting .192, clobbered his first home run of the season, a three-run shot, as a part of the 6-run first inning for the Roadrunners. Hernandez would go 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 3 runs batted in from the seven hole in the lineup. Sophomore left fielder Graham Gonzales (Valparaiso, IN) went 3 for 4 out of the leadoff spot, scoring 3 runs and getting in 3 RBI's. Sophomore short stop Jason Leon (La Quinta H.S.) went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and sophomore left handed starting pitcher Michael-Alan Stanford (Westlake Village) dominated, tossing seven complete, striking out 8 in his third win of the season.

The next contest for Desert is on Tuesday, February 14th at 1:30p hosting the Cerritos Falcons.
