(Fullerton, CA) Alexis Sanchez scored 16 points to lead Mt. SAC (10-4) to a 65-49 win over West Hills-Lemoore (2-8) in the opening round of the Colleen Riley Holiday Invitational at Fullerton College on Thursday.

Natalia Shpegel added 14 points for the Mounties while teammate Aujanae Mayes contributed 10 off the bench. Tiana Douglas led Mt. SAC with 10 rebounds.

Trailing 33-22 at halftime, West Hills cut the lead to five, 33-28, at the 6:17 mark of the third quarter, but that was as close as the Golden Eagles got.

Alondra Ponce led West Hills with 11 points.

Mt. SAC will face Cerritos (10-5) in the semifinal round of the tournament on Friday, Dec. 28, at 7 p.m. at Fullerton College.
