SANTA CRUZ – Thanks to some high-level Southern California men’s and women’s tournaments last weekend, the California Community College Water Polo Coaches Association (CCCWPCA) week four rankings have a decidedly different look. Aside from the same two teams - Golden West and West Valley for the men and Long Beach City and Santa Barbara City for the women - continuing to lock down their top spots, last week’s tourneys and the beginning of conference action caused ripple effects across the state’s pools and polls.
On the men’s side, Orange Coast moved from No. 8 to No. 3, while Mt. San Antonio jumped from No. 6 to No. 4 and Cerritos (No. 8) and Ventura (No. 9) sprinted back into the Top Ten. The women welcomed two new teams, No. 6 Golden West and No. 10 Palomar to the rankings, and Orange Coast leaped to No. 3 from No. 6.
