SANTA CRUZ – Week four of the California Community College Water Polo Coaches Association (CCCWPCA) men’s and women’s Top Ten rankings saw a virtual reconstruction of everything but the top three. Just the opposite took place in week five, with only a handful of squads switching positions or entering the polls.
The men’s top six were unchanged, but Cuesta dropped three spots from seventh to tenth, which advanced Cerritos, Ventura and Modesto one position each. On the women’s side, American River’s challenging schedule caused the Beavers to drop from fourth to sixth, while Golden West’s loss to Riverside moved them to eighth from sixth. Sierra re-entered the Top Ten with a Big 8 win over ARC.
A couple big tournaments, most notably the men’s Bruce Watson Invitational at West Valley, could cause some shifting for the Week Six rankings.
