CCCAA announces Bay Area Online Sports Network as championships broadcasting partner
SACRAMENTO – The California Community College Athletic Association announced on Tuesday that it will partner with Bay Area Online Sports Network (BAOSN) to broadcast 11 state championship events each year, beginning this fall.
BAOSN is no stranger to CCCAA Championships after airing both the 2017 and 2019 track and field championships, as well as the 2018 football title game between Laney College and Ventura College from Sacramento City College. BAOSN has also broadcast championships for the NCAA Div. II California Collegiate Athletic Association and the North American Soccer League. It also regularly broadcasts athletic events involving CCCAA schools in Northern California, including Laney and the College of San Mateo.
Under the multi-year agreement announced by the CCCAA, BAOSN will produce and broadcast championships for football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s water polo.
“We’re thrilled to work with BAOSN in bringing our fans the highest quality broadcasts from our state championships throughout California,” said Jennifer Cardone, CCCAA Interim Executive Director. “BAOSN is recognized as a Northern California leader in producing and airing athletic events from the high school to professional levels and will be a great enhancement to our championships program.”
Besides streaming broadcasts for the CCCAA website (www.cccaasports.org) and BAOSN.tv, events will also be delivered to OTT entities such as Roku, FireStick and AppleTV. It may also be sent to major digital outlets, including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch and Huddle. Additionally, events may also appear on linear TV channels.
“Our goal is to give our student-athletes a first-class championship experience and championship-caliber broadcasting is a big part of that,” said George Mategakis, CCCAA Director of Championships. “Their families and friends, as well as all of our CCCAA fans, will have a wide selection of places to view our championships and that’s exciting for us.”
BAOSN is recognized as a Northern California leader in broadcasting, a point that BAOSN President Jim Petromilli said the company works hard to earn.
“The Bay Area Online Sports Network is proud to have been selected to bring the excitement and drama of CCCAA Championships to fans around the world,” said Petromilli. “The CCCAA is the nation’s top two-year college athletics association and through our multi-year agreement, more fans than ever will have access to these championship events.”
BAOSN’s broadcast schedule with the CCCAA will begin with the CCCAA Men’s and Women’s Water Polo Championships from Las Positas College on Nov. 19-20. Other fall events include the men’s and women’s soccer (Dec. 3 & 5, Mt. San Antonio College), women’s volleyball (Dec. 2-5, Fresno City College) and football championships (Dec. 11, SoCal Regional Champion).
