In an almost exact duplicate of Tuesday's game in Saratoga, West Valley shut out Cabrillo 2-0 in Aptos in the regular season finale. This one, however, went an extra inning before being decided. Neither squad could push anything across in seven innings, but Abigail Desa's RBI fielder's choice and Sydney Heming's RBI ground-out to short brought home the game's only runs in the top of the 8th. Cabrillo (20-18, 8-6) went down in order in the home half of the 8th, ending the game on a ground-out back to Shelby White in the circle.

The win gave the Vikings (28-8, 12-2 Coast) a season-sweep of their Highway 17 rivals and left them just a single game out of the top spot in a conference with three teams - #5 San Mateo, #6 Monterey Peninsula and #7 West Valley -  in the top ten of the final regular season CCCFCA poll. The 12-2 Coast record represents the highwater mark in the Vicky Piatt coaching era in Saratoga. The Vikings swept five Coast opponents - Cabrillo, Chabot, Hartnell, Ohlone and San Jose City - and split with College of San Mateo and Monterey Peninsula.

White struck out five and gave up one hit in four innings to pick up her 12th win of the year. Kaylee Ramirez scored the winning run after opening the 8th with a single. Bella Sweet added the insurance run on the Heming grounder.
